Algebra I Back to School Prep
With twelve years of teaching experience and nineteen years of tutoring in Highland Park, I’ve worked with hundreds of students and seen consistent patterns in the skills they need. Even my own three children recently went through HP Algebra I, and it's clear that a few key pre-algebra gaps can make a big difference. A strong foundation not only leads to a more positive Algebra I experience but also builds lasting confidence that often translates into higher grades. As I tell my students, algebra is here to stay. These skills will be used in every future math class they take.
The transition from middle school math to Algebra I can be stressful for students and parents alike. For incoming ninth graders, that stress is often heightened by the adjustment to high school. This course is also ideal for students entering Algebra I in eighth grade.
My goal is to identify and strengthen those essential skills before the school year begins. It’s much better to address these challenges early than to realize six weeks into the semester that your student is already falling behind.

Graphing concepts
Integer review
