The on-Level Prep is a 4-day in-class Summer Reading Group is designed to help students complete their required summer reading assignment in a structured, engaging, and accountable environment. Students will do all their reading live in class, immediately dissecting the text as a group to uncover layers of meaning. This highly interactive format ensures students learn how to think critically about literature in real-time, sharpening their analytical skills for high-level discussions.

Students will read assigned sections each day while participating in guided discussions focused on comprehension, themes, character development, important passages, and critical thinking strategies commonly emphasized in high school English courses.

In addition to completing the book, students will strengthen annotation, discussion, and analytical skills that will better prepare them for quizzes, essays, projects, and in-class discussions once the school year begins. The goal is for students to enter the first weeks of school feeling both prepared and confident with the material.

The Old Man and the Sea (TAG)

The TAG Prep is a 1 hour session to help provide a structured review to reinforce comprehension and ensure students better connect with the text.  They will discuss the book and review important aspects such as symbols, theme, plot, etc.  

Please read the book and be ready to join the round table discussion.
